Quick rundown on how to play this deck, for the inexperienced:

Your mulligan wishlist priority should look something like this.

  • [Infamous](/card/01163), [Holdout Blaster](/card/01063), [Hunker Down](/card/01164)
  • [Awakening](/card/01124), [Electroshock](/card/01159)
  • [Jetpack](/card/01066), [Draw Attention](/card/01128), [Heroism](/card/01117)

The first action is usually to activate Han and then plan out the rest of your round from there. Play your early upgrades on Rey, and use Heroism/Draw Attention to keep damage evenly distributed between them.

DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol lets you activate Rey and resolve damage dice without interference, as well as a Infamous boosted Jetpack or Hunker Down. Meanwhile, your ambush actions build shields on Han to help keep absorbing damage, or threaten with Riposte as a release valve for excess shields.

The real deviation in this deck is Lightsaber, and to a smaller, related extent, Awakening. I find Awakening to be an excellent card in both Rey/Han and Rey/Finn that will save you actions and rerolls in future rounds. The issue here is that once Rey is defeated, you will only have modified sides with ranged on them, which should almost never be left stranded in your dice pool.

Enter the Lightsaber. Along with One with The Force, and Holdout Blaster, it's the upgrade of choice to have on Rey prior to her defeat. Once redeployed on Han, Awakening keeps Lightsaber's +2 Melee side active, which you'll need if you're trying to discard your opponent's Hunker Down.

My biggest issue playing earlier versions of this deck was that its damage output hits a speedbump in the mid game, between Rey averaging less than a point of melee damage per round and losing tempo if she is defeated holding a DL-44 or Jetpack. Hopefully this is the change it needs to keep up with other aggro decks like Vader/Raider and Jango/Veers.
