Their damage symbols align due to them both being mainly range damage characters. Gaffi stick and flame thrower are melee upgrades which decrease the roll chance on consistent range damage. Thermal detonator is an excellent hoser for group decks so ill give that a go |

Jango's activation is free, so it's almost as if you only have a single character to activate each round - which is just about the minimum right now. Even though Flame Thrower's will require another action to resolve, this deck is so fast that it often can spare an additional action and still claim the battlefield. Gaffi Stick is harder to argue for, since its +2 and sides are often useless in this deck. Redeploy is juicy though, when you're sure to lose a character quickly and need to keep up the pressure. |
This pair can generate really fast damage. Even though they don't mesh with your damage symbols, have you considered Gaffi Stick and Flame Thrower for raw damage output? Infantry Grenades and Thermal Detonator help against opponents running 3 or 4 characters, which could give this deck difficulty.
