This Royal Palace is not fancy enough. Time to Cass it up!

In all seriousness, The idea for this deck came out of trying to maximize the effectiveness of the Naboo Palace Guard's ability by pairing them with a leader to give them Guardian and attach Riot Shield to block 3 of the damage you guardian away, given that the guards are also Troopers - seems like a great exchange to me!

From there, I added in elite Cassian Andor - Rebellion Operative to round out 30 points and Cass Up the Joint was born!

Continuing with the trooper/guardian synergy for just a moment, you can parlay your Guardian/Riot Shield combo with a quick Measure for Measure to mitigate even further. Measure for Measure also works with Conscript Squad, which will activate with Cassian.

From there you have the excellent suite of red/yellow guns and removal. Load up guns on Cassian, resolve his dice for additional damage and let your Naboo Guards tank for you. Double A300 Blaster, double Hidden Blaster, double Handheld L-S1 Cannon, then single of each Han Solo's Blaster and Chewbacca's Blaster Rifle, which can both pay huge dividends with a well-timed overwrite or just straight play.

And this deck is jam-packed with removal. All told 14 dice removal cards with a playset each of Suppressive Fire, Easy Pickings, Measure for Measure, Aggressive Negotiations, Into The Garbage Chute, Rebel Assault, and my spicy little tech Inflame. I've always loved inflame, and it's even better with Guardian. If they have a die showing a high damage side, flip it to a low side and shove it on to one of your guards.

I haven't talked much about the Battlefield, but that's because I never expect to win it (a four dice start without only four combined 2-sides doesn't inspire confidence). That said, if I should happen to get lucky and hit the nuts on the roll-off, Military Camp - Kaller will be huge. Activate both Naboo Guards, which can proc double guardian, removing two dice and splitting damage in one action. And, to top it all off, you get to reroll one of their dice. Not bad!

When testing this deck before Spark of Hope, I wondered how it could pay for everything and how it could stand up to mitigation, and it answered both of those questions very well. You can get enough dice into the pool that it's difficult to mitigate every round, and you can keep up with their mitigation while having 18 health of guardian to get through (more, counting Riot Shields). As for money, you can definitely afford to go a round without hard mitigation given your guardian, so even just round one of putting down a hand cannon is a huge play. Plus, Spark of Hope brought in another zero-cost mitigation card with Rebel Assault.

I do like this deck a ton, and, while not blowing anyone away, it does have a solid record (somehow going 3-0 against Vader, which really shouldn't happen). It has a great Phasma matchup, will probably do great against Maul, and any other aggro decks of that ilk. It's essentially an anti-aggro, aggro deck, which makes it the most unique thing I've played in a while.
