Idea
You're generally playing for Leia's specials. You will want to play two Moxie and an Underhanded Tactics on Leia for damage and speed. The idea is you roll out Leia with all of her upgrades, then you roll out Padme hoping for . If no , you can Salt Flats - Crait to the 3 side. If you have Underhanded Tactics on it's special and at least 1 Padme die on 3 , then you resolve specials starting with the underhanded. You deal your indirect and resolve Padme's 3 to turn three Leia or Moxies to specials. Then you resolve those three specials under the same turn as the Underhanded. Otherwise, you just to the specials.
- If Leia is killed, you play Padmé Amidala's Royal Starship and Senate Chamber for the specials to hopefully do big indirect damage.
- If Padme is killed, you play those supports anyway and use those to keep focusing to the specials.
Record
3 - 3
Game 1 - W
- Characters: Doctor Aphra - Artifact Hunter, General Grievous - Droid Armies Commander, Battle Droid (x2)
- Battlefield: Arena of Death - Nar Shaddaa
- Notes: I really did feel bad about this game. My opponent was gracious in defeat, but to start off by playing against a 4 wide was hard to watch. This deck definitely excels in a higher number of characters. Playing out 3 Leia specials (using Moxie) in one go to do a total of 24 damage total (6 to all 4 characters) is brutal. Game ended after 2 rounds I believe.
Game 2 - W
- Characters: Palpatine - Galactic Emperor, Wat Tambor - Techno Union Foreman
- Battlefield: Theed Royal Palace - Naboo
- Notes: This one was lucky. I knew going into GQ that Palp/Wat or Palp/Watto was going to be an issue due to the health difference. After 2 or 3 rounds, Palpatine will be at 14-16 total health while the other character would still be at 9. When Leia is only doing a good 2 damage per die (since there is only one character left), it starts to not be as powerful. True it's nice to pop off the low HP character real quick, but end game it doesn't have the potency as a 5-upgrade Palp does. This game came down to the wire, and it was %100 luck. I had only Leia left last round, and we both had our dice out on the table. He had a Force Storm showing 4 indirect (enough to kill) and a Palp 2 melee (enough to kill). I played seize the day to re-roll Leia's dice to hope for either 2 specials, or 2 melee (no other combo would work). Got the 2 melee to win the game. GG man.
Game 3 - L
- Characters: Mother Talzin - Nightsister Matriarch, Tobias Beckett - Thief For Hire.
- Battlefield: Rift Valley - Dathomir
- Notes: I went in feeling fairly confident in this game since I had played it once before GQ, but quickly realized just how nasty Beckett can be. In short, lots of removal, lots of paying the specials off (whenever I actually got it). He focused on killing Leia, and took care of that rather quickly (by end of round 2). Then he threw a Mind Extraction on Padme (which makes her pretty useless). I had to exhaust to remove it, which put me way behind schedule. He made quick work of Padme after that. Unshackle came up 2 hands later, so it wasn't helpful to wait around for that.
Game 4 - L
- Characters: Padmé Amidala - Resolute Senator, Leia Organa - Boushh
- Battlefield: N/A
- Notes: Mirror decks, how fun! I was thoroughly beaten on this game. First 5 cards in hand did not have any upgrades, so I threw them all back. Second starter 5 had no upgrades again, so I kept on going. Second and Third hands had no upgrades. Finally, my Fourth hand had Moxie....after Leia was dead and Padme had 2 hits left on her. This one wasn't so great.
Game 5 - W
- Characters: Leia Organa - Heart of the Resistance, Cassian Andor - Rebellion Operative, Espionage
- Battlefield: Occupied City - Lothal
- Notes: I'm not good against mill, but holy crap this deck excels against a mill deck! I've only tested it a small handful of times, but it has been a win every time and I always end with anywhere between 4-10 cards left in deck and hand. As far as mill busting, this is a good contender!
Game 6 - L
Sorry, I don't remember! Haha the guy didn't submit a decklist either.
Conclusion
I had a good time. I think this deck could have done a bit better, but removal definitely hurts, and with no Moxie it becomes difficult to work with only 2 dice.
Death Mark can be pretty nice if you place on a character that will most likely die last, i feel like people dont bother with it at all and can be nice if you get it out round 1 for free with a moxie for 2.
