This is fun to play and surprisingly competitive. There's no upgrades or supports with dice. There's a lot of damage from hand. Squad Tactics followed by Strength in Numbers is 5 damage. Scorched Earth is normally 5ish damage played at the right time (there's Lockdown if you don't have control of the battlefield - quick note on this card: if your opponent claims first, it's a neat play to finish your turn with this card, so you get first action next round and have control from the off, to set up a nice scorched earth play). Attrition can do 4 damage for one resource, so mulligan hard for this, or the Squad Tactics/Strength in Numbers combo.

New Orders and The Day is Ours help with getting your battlefield working for you. Given there's no upgrades and no supports with dice, it's surprisingly fast, especially if you get lucky with a few rolls to chain activate.

The droid themselves can do some handy indirect damage, and a well played Emulate for free focusing or Locked and Loaded for double focusing goes a long way to keeping the damage ticking over.

Removal suite is pretty standard for resource poor red decks. Doubt and Sound The Alarm for free, Outnumber for 1 resource but it's remove any die, and Shrapnel Blast well timed can be frustrating. And of course The Best Defense.... Don't be afraid to kill a droid with this card, especially if you've got Aftermath and Attrition in play and especially if you're playing in the Arena of Death.

The build is rounded off with a couple of Probes. This card is essential against decks that abuse events, such as Obi-Maz. Played at the right time, it kills off Hyperspace Jump like nothing else. Or it's just a neat play for free to get rid of some dice mitigation.

Cards I am not playing:

Endless Ranks: 5 resources for a droid. No thanks.

Separatist Landing Craft: 4 resources, 2 actions and a lucky roll for a battle droid. Nope.

Imperial Troop Transport: ok, this is tempting. 3 resources for potential 5 damage each roll. But given that my droid dice are so pithy, my opponent isn't going to waste their removal/control cards on them when there's something like that on the table. And realistically, you'll only get some decent damage out of it once. And you might miss out on claiming. Not worth it against a good opponent.

Enjoy
