This deck came from the Twitter poll where more than 50% of the votes said they considered a budget deck to be under $50. I wanted to see if we could put together a deck that was strong enough to play against the big decks.

We all know 5 die villain is powerful and I think that this sub $50 version has the proper tools to hold its ground. You are sacrificing some staple upgrades like the Holdout Blaster and X-8 Night Sniper, but I offset those single costs with hand disruption cards like Friends in Low Places and Probe. Your upgrades do have the Redeploy keyword to get maximum value the entire game plus you have a very strong removal suite that doesn’t require you to sacrifice dice to remove the opponent’s dice.

A majority of removal is 1 resource or less and doesn’t require you to have a die on the board. This will allow you to setup early game and then control dice while rolling your own into the field and threatening Bala reactivations.

For $45.93 (not including shipping) you can build this deck from scratch and I think that’s one bargain. This deck will have some bad matchups against explosive decks since your characters are very squishy individually. But I believe that for less than $50 you have a competitive deck at your locals for sure.

Being able to learn how to use the Nightsister action will really help you gain mileage from the deck. A skilled Nightsister player can really add serious advantage to the game. So practice using her in combination with learning the lines of play the deck has to offer. With three characters you have the tools necessary to combat plenty of decks in the current meta.

If I have the X-8's and the Holdouts what would you swap them for and why?

You could drop the E-11 and F-11 D for those cards. The ambush and redeploy is very powerful. The only reason those aren’t in this deck is because we had to keep the cost of the deck under $50. And holdout being $10 a card and X-8 around $33, there’s no way to stay under $50.

But this is a template for players to build from. You can start with this list at under $50 and evolve it as your collection and/or budget grows.

Thanks for the guidance!
