This is a really fun pairing I've enjoyed playing since the release of EaW. It's done well in each game that I've played at my locals, with wins often feeling great and losses never quite feeling like the games were out of reach.

The gameplan is to activate Ahsoka Tano - Force Operative as your first costed action in a turn whenever you're able to. Her two character dice are arguably better than any two cost upgrade you could play in a round, except perhaps Vibroknife (situationally), and a first turn double activation allows for a maximum of 12 damage when you also factor in Kanan Jarrus - Rebel Jedi's roll. Sure, other decks may eventually ramp to a point where they put out more damage than that, but this deck comes out firing from turn one and never looks back.

You can use the extra dice that Ahsoka generates for more than just damage, too! Ahsoka is a great character to use with both Guard and Destiny. Guard on one of her character dice still leaves three remaining (and a potential six damage). Destiny is even better, because Ahsoka often will roll numbers totaling 3-4, which allows for a free Rey's Lightsaber or Master of the Council on Kanan. Even just removing a single one of her dice showing a value of two allows for "free" drops of Vibroknife or Shoto Lightsaber. Her dice essentially cost you a resource each to get into the pool, so if you can turn her dice into extra upgrades costed favorably against that 1/1 ratio it's pure advantage. There will be times you have accumulated extra resources where dropping the extra upgrade on Ahsoka to get a three die activation off is correct too - just depends on the game!

The choice of Kanan over Rey - Force Prodigy for this build is one that bears explanation. To start, Kanan is a beast when paired with Force Misdirection. Resolving Kanan's focus side with his ability to turn his other die to the correct die face for Force Misdirection gives this deck a cheap option to launch some blowout dice control. Additionally, I believe his style of action cheating is superior to Rey's in a build like this. Rey requires that you play an upgrade on her to actually begin using her ability, which slows us down in the early game when we really want to be activating Ahsoka twice. Kanan doesn't rely on resources or card draw quite like Rey does, which makes him a better fit in a deck that doesn't run much of either. In short, Kanan's quick resolve ability, non-reliance on upgrades, and non-modified two melee side make him a strong character that fits a little bit better with Ahsoka than Rey - at least in my opinion.

Some of the card choices I made in the event lineup may seem a bit unorthodox, but Roll On and Clash played really well with Trust Your Instincts to help maximize damage on Ahsoka's sides without having to play card draw upgrades like Journals of Ben Kenobi or Fearless, which don't really improve your damage consistently and slow down the up-tempo style of play you want to bring to the table with this deck. To that end, I play zero-cost events where possible to make sure I still have options on turns I use both of my resources to roll Ahsoka. The battlefield was a difficult one to decide on, but because Ahsoka requires a 2+ resource investment on each turn to reach her maximum damage, resource generation with Moisture Farm - Tatooine struck me as a fairly innocuous choice that could pay large dividends.

This is still a pretty fresh deck idea, so I know this version is far from perfect and there's still plenty of room for improvement. That said, it's played well for me and it's been extremely satisfying to play. Experiment all you like with it, and if you do, I hope you have fun!

I´m working on a similar, but with Chirrut instead of Kanan. The Rebel Jedi is an absolute toolbox of joy! As you say, Force Misdirection is fantastic with dual damage Jedis (and Guard too). Especially Kanan with a showing. Whatever damage they bet on will be removed unless they action cheat. Real nice.

Destiny is also criminally underplayed. In 4 dice Jedi decks it's top notch ramp. Or just as surprise factor, let Phasma reroll and then you transform that +1 into a , paying for that Deflect out of nowhere. It gives you so many options.

One thing I´m also growing to like is the new dice turning cards Concentrate and Lightsaber Training. Both are match winning and better than what the Sith has who are reliant on rolling good and cannot ramp aswell into Sabers.

I love Destiny in this deck. It might be the MVP, given that each time I play it I can turn Ahsoka's biggest disadvantage (she's a bit of a resource drain) into a positive. Chirrut Îmwe - Blind Warrior is a card that I would like to play, and can just never bring myself to try. I wish you luck with him!

Concentrate is a card that I considered playing over Clash, but I ended up deciding that I liked the flexibility of Clash to serve as simultaneous offensive and defensive dice control. I would like to try it, though! Lightsaber Training is another that I considered, but I was concerned it would play inconsistently in a deck that isn't built to rely on upgrades. A card that I actually really like, kind of along those same lines, is Something familiar. For a number of reasons, though, I felt there were safer, more consistent options for this build.

How do you get 12 damage? Am I reading it wrong? You activate her, and then have to make the choice to pay and ready her, there's no time in between to resolve her dice.

@dacfarrenYou roll her in, and untap her with the two resources. Dice are out in the pool. Resolve your dice when you can, returning them to Ahsoka Tano - Force Operative. Activate her again. The gravy train is if you got two bucks from your dice. Rinse lather repeat.

Articero 881

@dacfarren You can resolve her dice from the pool after she is readied, then activate her again, as @barrinmstr indicated. You get 12 by adding Ahsoka's maximum of four to Kanan's maximum of four, then adding Ahsoka's four again for her second activation. You can do this each turn on your activation, since you always start with the two resources needed to make the play.

@barrinmstr you can't really "rinse lather repeat" because her ability specifies it is only online the first time you activate her each round. The two bucks can help in future rounds, of course.

@jdharms you're absolutely right. I need to RTFC better. :)
